What Is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a health care profession directed at evaluating, restoring and maintaining physical function.

Physicians have a detailed understanding of how the body works and are trained to assess and improve movement and function and relieve pain.

Physiotherapists promote good health by encouraging their patients to improve and optimize their well-being.

A physiotherapist is a university graduate of a recognized university-based school of physiotherapy, with academic training plus clinical internships completed in recognized health care facilities

All practicing physiotherapists in Ontario are licensed to practice through provincial legislation.  The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario requires that the candidates pass the Physiotherapy National Exam.
